“I like Alyaksandr…but it is a more traditional name…”
“You can change it to Alexander, if you want. How about if it’s a girl?” He poked at her stomach.
“I…am not sure. I have not put much thought into it as you have, Alfred.” she tipped her head so she could put a kiss on his chin.
He blushed. “Shucks, I don’t have any ideas for a girl though. I mean, I like my not really sister’s name Amelia, but I dunno.”
“Amelia? But it is wishing ill upon a person to name your baby for them.”
“Really? Here it’s kind of an honorable thing. Naming your baby after them shows your deep respect for that person.”
“I understand that…but I cannot shake the idea I would be wishing ill them.” Amelia was a cute name but…it didn’t quite feel right either.
“I can’t understand that. Cultural differences, it’s cool we’ll just avoid the names of anyone we know.”
She nodded once. “Have you not given any thought to names for a little girl?”
